Apply to become a seller
Quality work and fair pricing are critical to the success of our sellers and the Sketchfab Store as a whole.
In order to become a seller, we will review your portfolio to see if it meets the following criteria:
- Make sure your Sketchfab portfolio is representative of your work.
- All models, textures, and/or animations must be your original property.
- Work is modeled to an acceptable industry standard in keeping with other sellers in the store.
- Thumbnails, titles, and descriptions accurately reflect the items for sale.
- Models are accurately UV mapped when UVs are used.
- Clean topology is employed.
- Textures (when used) and materials are optimized and efficient.
- Models specifically sold for 3D printing are water-tight and appropriately constructed.
See our Seller Guidelines for more details, or browse our store to get a sense of the kind of quality we consider acceptable.
You must be at least 18 years old to become a seller in the Sketchfab Store.
Link your PayPal account
Once you've applied and our Store team has approved you to become a seller, you must link your PayPal account to your Sketchfab account. (We hope to offer alternative payment services in the future.)
You can connect your PayPal account under your Account Settings.
Choosing your PayPal type
There are two ways to connect your PayPal account to Sketchfab: Business or Personal.
PayPal Business
When connecting your PayPal from your Account Settings, you'll notice a PayPal Business account is available. This is a free PayPal upgrade with no additional fees.
You can use this account type as an individual instead of a registered business too. We recommend the following settings – "Individual", "Entertainment and media", "Digital media, books, movies, music" – this will require no more business records, VAT information, etc.
Make sure to check both boxes during the linking process, agreeing to PayPal's User Agreement as well as giving the proper permissions to Sketchfab. This is required for the PayPal connection to be successful.
PayPal Personal
If you'd like to sell using the Personal option, check the option for "Casual Seller" after clicking the "Link" button under your Account Settings.
Final steps to connect
You may see "Waiting for PayPal verification" in your Account Settings after connecting your PayPal account. You should receive an email from Sketchfab shortly after that (anywhere from several minutes to more than an hour), verifying your PayPal Business account is verified and linked.
Once you've been accepted to be a Sketchfab seller and your PayPal account has been successfully linked, it's time to set up your store!

PayPal only? What about Payoneer?
Как насчет Payoneer?
We plan to add other payment options like Payoneer or Alipay in the future! Thanks for your patience.
This is really awesome, I'm looking forwards to this! :)
If i have 10 models on my account but plan to sell maybe up to about 4 models, would i still be eligable to apply for selling? or do i have to have a mandatory 10 models to sell?
I see that you're planning on adding more payment options -- please look into adding Skrill! I can't use Paypal, unfortunately!
why you did not give me a Seller account?
I have the same 10 models!
I'm not the first time you send request!
give me a Seller account please...
How long does it take to get approved as a seller?? There is nothing mentioning about that. Some info would be nice.
waiting for Payoneer support
@rubenve The 10 model requirement is mostly for our team to inspect the quality of your work, so you don't necessarily need to sell 10 models if you're an approved seller.
@6500562 @tobyfredson We've received a lot of applications, but we're working through them as quickly as possible! There's currently no official timeline for the process. Thanks for your patience!
@lyoshko Understood! Thanks for the feedback.
Good to see the next step big step for the site!! We really appreciate you guys for all the work on developing the tech and the community! I don't mean to sound grim, but any future roadmap for the 30% commission? plans of increasing the creator's share? (3.5% commission on shapeways)
@twitte_king Thanks for the feedback! We will definitely be keeping an eye on the commission policy over time and adjust it if and when it makes sense.
Please we need Payoneer support
@rubenve when i can get seller account! i tired wait.
what is missing? you say me
Our team is working hard to get through all the applications! Thanks for your patience.
Hello Sketchfab,
how long does it usually take to become a seller here? I have been waiting for 3 weeks now?
thank you
@pinotoon
We're still working through all the applications! Sorry for the delay!
@James After link PayPal account, me need open a corporate account in PayPal ???
@6500562 same thing. Other store enough and simple account.
why exactly need open a corporate account???
Hi! Do I have to open a company or to become a sole proprietorship to start selling here? Because I need this to open a corporate PayPal account. And I suppose this is a big problem not only for me but a lot of people too. Will you permit Individual PayPal accounts as Turbosquid do?
Hey everyone,
We're using a new PayPal product called "PayPal for Marketplaces". It requires upgrading your PayPal account to a "Business" account, but this is a free upgrade.
You do not need to be a business or sole proprietorship to have a Business PayPal account. You can do it as an individual.
Okay, but this is what I have at the moment. I've done all the steps described here and have stopped on the page "open your Business account" where I do have to type in the information about my company or sole proprietorship. Maybe there are different conditions for some countries?
@alav yes yes I have the same! and I can not solve this problem in any way!!
Please make a sales support in Ukraine!
@alav same problem.
