Models sold in the Sketchfab Store must go through our latest processing pipeline so that we can collect the most accurate stats (such as polygon count) and implement various other fixes. Therefore, models uploaded before 15 November 2017 must be reprocessed.
Because there are many new features and processing policies in place, older models may be processed and rendered differently than they were originally. Here are some things to keep in mind:
- We support a maximum of 100 unique materials. If we detect more than 100 materials, they will be merged together.
- We support animation in FBX and Blender files. If your models contained valid animations but were uploaded before we implemented animation support, they will now be animated.
- Changes to mesh and texture compression may affect rendering, but your original files (and the files that others download) will always be preserved.
- The existing settings for SSS/Translucency and Displacement channels will always be preserved because they are not currently supported in any upload format.
Model reprocessing is identical to re-uploading, so 3D settings such as backgrounds, lighting, and post-processing filters will be preserved whenever possible.
To reprocess a model, click the Edit Properties button on the model page, find the Download section, and set it to Store. Once you do this, you'll see the option to Reprocess Model.

How long does it take? After 10min it's still processing...
Sorry about that. There have been some very long processing queues today. We're looking into it, but everything should finish eventually.
I was worried as it was my first processing. It worked out for one model (cessna 206), but another two lost textures (cessna 340 landing and flying). I re-assigned them. Now, one of them, although it looks good in preview, when entering 3d settings, it lacks all the textures. a bug?
Thanks for the reply!
Hmm. "Landed" looks ok in 3D Settings. I do see the issue on "Flying". It's probably a bug due to how old the models are. We're working on several fixes related to reprocessing legacy models. It looks like the textures are available in 3D settings though. Can you re-apply them and save? Sorry for the inconvenience.
So, was going to upload a model for sale and it said that I have to reprocess the model before selling. So I clicked reprocess and two hours go by without it finishing the reprocessing(I am still unable to reprocess the model). I was wondering if there is a fix for this. Thanks for the help. (This is a copy of a request I made)
Quantum3D - Thanks, I just replied to your request ticket.
I don't currently see the reprocess button like in the example. Is there a way to force reprocessing without becoming a seller? Is that even the issue? I'm currently working on client based work and selling models likely won't be an option.
Hello,
Yes, Sketchfab staff can reprocess models manually, but there usually needs to be a reason to do so. I've created a support ticket on your behalf so I can better understand what you need.
