Models sold in the Sketchfab Store must go through our latest processing pipeline so that we can collect the most accurate stats (such as polygon count) and implement various other fixes. Therefore, models uploaded before 15 November 2017 must be reprocessed.
Because there are many new features and processing policies in place, older models may be processed and rendered differently than they were originally. Here are some things to keep in mind:
- We support a maximum of 100 unique materials. If we detect more than 100 materials, they will be merged together.
- We support animation in FBX and Blender files. If your models contained valid animations but were uploaded before we implemented animation support, they will now be animated.
- Changes to mesh and texture compression may affect rendering, but your original files (and the files that others download) will always be preserved.
- The existing settings for SSS/Translucency and Displacement channels will always be preserved because they are not currently supported in any upload format.
Model reprocessing is identical to re-uploading, so 3D settings such as backgrounds, lighting, and post-processing filters will be preserved whenever possible.
To reprocess a model, click the Edit Properties button on the model page, find the Download section, and set it to Store. Once you do this, you'll see the option to Reprocess Model.
