Like anything else, we know sharing your 3D models isn’t always a flawless process. It takes some work and patience, but because Sketchfab wants to do everything we can to make it easier for you, we've collected a series of questions our users frequently ask and actions to help possibly solve each.
Do you accept other payment methods besides PayPal?
Not exactly. Currently, PayPal is Sketchfab’s exclusive payment processor, however, we can sometimes make an exception for a Sketchfab membership plan via wire. The only requirement is that the purchase must be an annual plan commitment - Premium or higher. If you’re interested, message us.
I upgraded my account but my plan didn’t change. What’s going on?
Sometimes our system can get confused through an upgrade. We're glad to fix it right away! If you’re having this issue, please message us.
How can I request an invoice for my payment?
You can always request an invoice for your paid membership. We do not currently offer invoices for the Sketchfab Store because PayPal manages those transactions. You should be able to request or find those through your PayPal dashboard.
Why didn’t I receive free PRO membership after messaging my friends through the Referral program?
To receive your free PRO membership, your friend needs to start a Sketchfab account with the personal invitation link and confirm their email address. If you’re still having trouble, feel free to message us.
I signed up for ArtStation PRO and I heard I can get Sketchfab PRO for free. How can I request this?
That’s right, ArtStation PRO members can get two free months of Sketchfab PRO membership. If you signed up for ArtStation PRO, message us with your ArtStation URL.
Why do I receive an Error code when I upload my model?
There are a few reasons why an upload could fail. You can fix some while others might require Sketchfab's help. See Error Codes.
How do I know if my model is too large/complex?
Good question! For recommendations on optimizing your uploaded model on Sketchfab, see Viewer Performance.
My model uploaded completely white. Where are my textures?
Sketchfab supports a maximum of 100 materials per uploaded model. If we detect more than 100 materials during processing, we attempt to merge identical materials. If there are still more than 100 materials after that, we merge everything together into a single material, which is why you might see your model with an off-white material color.
In order to upload your model with your materials, you'll want to compress or consolidate your total materials and re-upload. For more details, see Materials and Textures.
Can I duplicate my model or model’s settings?
Not yet. However, Sketchfab does have some experimental user scripts to copy material/scene settings between models.
How do I remove the Sketchfab watermark from my embedded viewer?
To remove both the Sketchfab logo and link from the embedded viewer, you’ll need to upgrade to the Enterprise plan. To keep the Sketchfab logo and only remove the link, you can upgrade to Business.
I don’t see a Download button on a model page. How do I download that model?
If a Sketchfab user decides not to offer their models as free downloads, that’s their decision. You could always comment on the model and request it to be downloadable or available for purchase, or you could use the Contact button on the user’s profile, if they are PRO or above.
I uploaded a model but I don't see the option to offer it for Download. Where is it?
Certain software options do not allow Sketchfab users to enable the Download option if you've uploaded using their exporter. If you're using one of these software, you won't see the Download option on the model page at all. The following software are some of the options that do not allow downloading from the Sketchfab website:
- Cappasity Easy 3D Scan
- Reallusion Character Creator 2
- itSeez3D (free version)
- Keyplan 3D
- Qlone (free version)
- Qubicle (Basic version)
I deleted my model but it’s still showing up in Google search results. How can I fix this?
Once a Sketchfab model is deleted, it is no longer being indexed by Google. However, Google can still show the model URL as a result. Clicking it won’t show the model, but it will be a matter of time before Google results do not include. Unfortunately, Sketchfab cannot change Google results.
Why doesn’t my model show my updates when I’m sharing it on Facebook?
Sometimes Facebook references the older version of a model or a model’s details. To update what Facebook shares, you need to update the cache. See Facebook.
How can I apply to be a seller?
You can apply to sell in the Sketchfab Store through the Selling 3D models guide.
How long does it take for my Sketchfab seller application to be reviewed?
The Sketchfab team reviews each application and profile manually, so it can take a bit of time (usually 2-3 business days).
