Like anything else, we know sharing your 3D models isn’t always a flawless process. It takes some work and patience, but because Sketchfab wants to do everything we can to make it easier for you, we've collected a series of questions our users frequently ask and actions to help possibly solve each.
Why did my upload fail?
Often when an upload fails on Sketchfab, it is the result of trying to upload a large and/or complex model. Most of these uploading issues can be resolved by reviewing the Viewer Performance recommendations and re-uploading your model. For more details on different error messages you might see for failed uploads, see Processing Error Codes.
My model uploaded and it looks off-white. Where are my materials?
Sketchfab supports a maximum of 100 materials per uploaded model. If we detect more than 100 materials during processing, we attempt to merge identical materials. If there are still more than 100 materials after that, we merge everything together into a single material, which is why you might see your model with an off-white material color.
In order to upload your model with your materials, you'll want to compress or consolidate your total materials and re-upload. For more details, see Materials and Textures.
I don't see the Download option. Where is it?
Certain software options do not allow Sketchfab users to enable the Download option if you've uploaded using their exporter. If you're using one of these software, you won't see the Download option on the model page at all. The following software are some of the options that do not allow downloading from the Sketchfab website:
- Cappasity Easy 3D Scan
- Reallusion Character Creator 2
- itSeez3D (free version)
- Keyplan 3D
- Qlone (free version)
- Qubicle (Basic version)
