Like anything else, we know sharing your 3D models isn’t always a flawless process. It takes some work and patience, but because Sketchfab wants to do everything we can to make it easier for you, we've collected a series of questions our users frequently ask and actions to help possibly solve each.
Getting Started
What is Sketchfab?
Sketchfab is a platform meant to empower a new era of creativity. We make it easy for anyone to upload, publish, embed, buy, sell, and find 3D content online. With a community of millions of creators who have published millions of models, we are the largest platform for immersive and interactive 3D. Additionally, the Sketchfab Store allows thousands of buyers and sellers to transact in confidence using our realtime 3D viewer and model inspector.
Our technology is integrated with every major 3D creation tool and publishing platform. We're compatible with all the major browsers and most VR headsets. Our player is embeddable anywhere on the web, and lets you view and share 3D and VR content on social media, such as Facebook, Twitter or Reddit.
I’m a beginner. Do you have tutorials for me to start learning 3D modeling?
Sure! Find the software the suits you and start 3D modeling and/or 3D scanning. Or check out our quick tutorials for some free 3D options.
Account / Billing
I still haven't received a link to confirm my email address. What can I do?
Confirmation emails can take some time to fire off to your inbox. If you still haven't received one, and you checked your Spam folder, sign into your account in the top-right corner of this page and reach out to our Product Support team. They can confirm your email address for you.
Do you accept other payment methods besides PayPal?
Not exactly. Currently, PayPal is Sketchfab’s only payment processor. However, we can sometimes make an exception for a Sketchfab membership plan via wire. The only requirement is that the purchase must be an annual plan commitment - Business or higher. If you’re interested, message us.
How can I request an invoice for my payment?
You can request an invoice for your paid Sketchfab membership. You can find Sketchfab Store invoices under your /purchases page (by clicking your thumbnail in the top-right corner of Sketchfab.com) Or you should be able to request or find those through your PayPal dashboard.
Uploading / Viewing
How many models can I upload every month?
Your upload limit depends on your Sketchfab membership, as well as certain attributes of the models. Every month you're given a certain amount of view-only upload credits for models uploaded that are not downloadable for other users, nor available for purchase in the Sketchfab Store.
What counts as a view?
A view for your Sketchfab model is counted whenever:
- a user visits your Sketchfab model page
- a user visits the website where your model is embedded and the Sketchfab model is loaded, which can either happen when you embed the model with the autostart parameter or when the user visiting the website clicks the Play button.
Your own model views are not counted in our analytics, as long as you're signed in.
Why do I receive an Error code when I upload my model?
There are a few reasons why an upload could fail. You can fix some yourself while others might require our help. Check out the Error Codes.
How do I know if my model is too large/complex?
Good question! For recommendations on optimizing your uploaded model on Sketchfab, see Viewer Performance.
Why does my model's textures look different between the model page and 3D Settings?
Sketchfab doesn't generate all the optimized and multi-resolution versions of textures until after you publish the model. The 3D Settings editor always uses the original, unprocessed versions, which is why you sometimes see a difference between that view and your model in Draft Mode.
Can I create a configurator to display my models with different colors, materials, etc?
Yes! With the Sketchfab Viewer API, you can create a 3D model configurator to allow others to interact with your models. Check it out.
My model uploaded completely white. Where are my textures?
There are several possible causes for this. Learn more here.
Sharing
Why doesn’t my model show my updates when I’m sharing it on Facebook?
Sometimes Facebook references the older version of a model or a model’s details. To update what Facebook shares, you need to update the cache. See Facebook.
Embedding
How do I remove the Sketchfab watermark from my embedded viewer?
To remove both the Sketchfab logo and link from the embedded viewer, you’ll need to upgrade to the Enterprise plan. To keep the Sketchfab logo and only remove the link, you can upgrade to Business.
My thumbnail doesn't look like my model. What's going on?
Often, thumbnail issues are a result of the model not being done processing. If you're ever having issues, you can update the thumbnail image on your end by clicking "Save View" in the top-left corner of the viewer on the model page or inside the 3D Settings.
Downloading
I don’t see a Download button on a model page. How do I download that model?
If a Sketchfab user decides not to offer their models as free downloads, that’s their decision. You could always comment on the model and request it to be downloadable or available for purchase, or you could use the Contact button on the user’s profile, if they are Pro or above.
Sharing
I deleted my model but it’s still showing up in Google search results. How can I fix this?
Once a Sketchfab model is deleted, it is no longer being indexed by Google. However, Google can still show the model URL as a result. Clicking it won’t show the model, but it will be a matter of time before Google results do not include it. Unfortunately, Sketchfab cannot change Google results.

Store
How can I apply to be a seller?
You can apply to sell in the Sketchfab Store through the Selling 3D models guide.
How long does it take for my Sketchfab seller application to be reviewed?
The Sketchfab team reviews each application and profile manually, so it can take a bit of time (usually 2-3 business days).

I'm too have same problem. I have sent a ticket to get help on this but I received the message that you got the message I sent out. Thought surely should be enough of proof that my email is valid..

Cannot confirm Email address, no Email sent to confirm Email. Have sent a ticket and had a reply to say its been received. Dan has sent me an Email for which I've replied too but no Email activation still???

I got email and confirmed to set up account . Blender still asking for a "token" in tools i/o section but when it says sent to email , there is nothing there .

hi, and why when downloading a file in the selection of a category there is no widespread category of Industrial? this is the most common category
@omg3d Thanks for the feedback! It's been some time since we chose those categories although, at first glance, I think "Electronics & gadgets" and "Science & technology" might cover quite a bit of Industrial-type models.
@Dan Industry, I met a lot on different sites 3D stores, sometimes hands are looking for the word Industry :)
