    Compressed Archives

    We also support uploading a compressed archive with your file(s) in it:

    • ZIP
    • RAR
    • 7z

    We also have lots of exporters, for software like Cinema4D, Maya, 3ds Max, and more!

      @eanduty - Sounds like you're using an unsupported version of C4D. At the moment, the exporter only supports Windows R15+ and OSX R13+. For now, you could manually export and upload one of these formats. Normally, I recommend OBJ and FBX. But, if I remember correctly, C4D doesn't export material definitions with OBJ. The exporter itself uses COLLADA (DAE).

      @dunealex - We now have a KSP exporter! https://sketchfab.com/exporters/kerbalspaceprogram

      @James - Thank you so much! Where do I have to go for troubleshooting? I get an error when uploading :(
      Ran it as admin just to make sure that it´s not windows blocking it. Tried multiple vessels and also tried it with the source download. If I use the alpha version, it works but then it won´t show any textures. As can be seen here: https://skfb.ly/EDrM

      Have a look at the error message:

      @James
      It only happens if the textures are being touched by any kind of mod. That´s what I figured now. Some mods work well, others don´t. I guess the community has to find out which ones are okay and which are not. It´s kinda important though as most of the players use mods.
      Also, struts and fuellines seem to go crazy :) It can be seen in your vimeo video. The fuellines between the radial droptanks and the main body of the vessel are pointing straight up in the 3D view. But I guess there´s not much that you could do about it since the game connects those things when the craft is loaded on the launchpad.

      Thanks for supporting it! And have a nice weekend :)

      @dunealex - Thanks for the details, what mod are you using?

      @James - That is a long list. I guess it´s only interesting to list the mods that add textures, or somehow work with them?

      Hello All.
      . . . I have created 3D Models in AutoCAD LT 2013 (.dwg) and in Fusion 360 (.f3d). The Sketchfab Plug-in doesn't connect with my version of AutoCAD and Sketchfab does recognize the Fusion 360 file. I've also tried Autodesk's "True View," but with similar results. I'm trying to put something on Quirky, but they won't accept anything but the formats listed here.

      @bschroeder_66 - You can try converting the DWG to one of our supported formats using FreeCAD: http://www.freecadweb.org/

      and where the format .3dm? Rhinoceros file format?

    • Avatar
      James

      @demiurges3d - We don't support the Rhino format natively, but Rhino's OBJ + MTL export is very reliable for Sketchfab.

      Since when .dxf is not longer supported by Sketchfab?...all our models have been uploaded on this format, but today we cannot upload new models.
      Are you planning to support this format again?...we choose this platform due to the .dxf uploading capabilities.

      @geodetecingenieria - Sorry about that. It looks like we introduced a bug. We're investigating! Thanks for the report.

      Any plans to support .ZAE? These are compressed archives containing a .DAE file and the necessary textures, graphics, and other files to render the .DAE file properly.  This would be awsome.

      @ardensoftware - If I remember correctly, .ZAE really is just a ZIP file. Does the upload work if you rename the file/extension .zip and upload? Could you send me a sample? support@sketchfab.com

      Will you guys add a format for Sculptris (.sc1)?

    • Avatar
      James

      @VirtualVel - You should be able to export and upload OBJ files from Sculptris.

      @James I just figured that out the day I posted my question. I had no idea you could export for 3D models. Thank you so much for the help ^-^. Now I need to figure out why it won't show it in color.

      Is there a way to convert .mix (Meshmixer) and .sc1 (Sculptris) files with the colored versions? Converting to .obj doesn't seem to include the colors on the model, just the model itself.

    • Avatar
      James

      @VirtualVel

      I just tested both.

      Sculptris doesn't export vertex colors in its OBJ export. We support this on Sketchfab, but they would need to implement this for it to work. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wavefront_.obj_file#Geometric_Vertex )

      Meshmixer worked fine for me when exporting "OBJ Format with Per-Vertex Color":

      https://sketchfab.com/models/17ac0e7dc7c84084aafaf94581dc6af0

      I think PLY would work, too.

      @James

      Hmm okay, it would be nice if they did add that in Sculptris.

      I'll remember that when I make a model, to make sure it's with "Per-Vertex Color".

      What is "PLY"?

      Thank you so much for this information and the fast reply.

    • Avatar
      James

      PLY is just another 3d file format: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PLY_(file_format)

      Meshmixer can export it, and it should include Vertex Colors, but I think OBJ is better.

      Ah okay. I think I'll do .obj. Thanks again for answering my questions :).

      Dear Sketchfab team,
      please consider adding support of an image format, that has depth information built into it?
      That would allow sharing/experiencing a life-like images captured with "Google Lens Blur" or "Seene" app.

      Ideally user experience be like here:
      http://seene.co/s/XciMXr

      Code that works with this format is available here:
      http://depthy.me/#/sample/flowers

      Description here:

      @paf Thanks for the feedback! You can use a tool like https://www.clicktorelease.com/code/depth-player/ to convert depth images like Android Lens Blur into 3D files, and even upload directly to Sketchfab.
