@James Are there any plans to change the default order the models show in? for instance if you uploaded an older model after a newer model you made, could you move it back in the order?

@DeadlyKenny - We do hope to offer more customizable galleries on your profile page and/or in collections, but no ETA on those features yet.

I have made several attempts to upload .zip file containing FBX and some jpgs, total size  37mb (unzipped total size 41mb), without success. The Uploads page on my profile shows no failed uploads. Can someone help me with this issue? Thanks Alex

@AlexVuks - That's strange. Do you mind emailing the file(s) to me so I can take a closer look? support@sketchfab.com

    Thanks!

Hello, sorry to bother but have an issue with an upload i recently made. I needed to reupload a model (to mantain the link i had sent to a client) and the model uploaded succesfully and (according to the page) with no issues. But the preview has been processing for the last hour and still can't get the preview.

I had uploaded the same scene without problems minutes before and it looks great, but I really need to resolve the issue with the reupload, as I need the link to be exactly the one i sent to the client... is there any way?

    Thank you!

    Hello @interbrandretail

I only see one model on your account, and it appears to be working. Are you still having trouble?

Is it possible to combine multiple uploads together?
Or can I upload multiple (say .obj) files in one go and have them join together into the same model?
I have a few layers I want to merge with varying transparencies.

@wkblack It only works with OBJ files, but if you include an empty file called "sketchfab.zbrush", we will concatenate all the OBJs into once scene. If you want to control materials individually, make sure to include all the MTL files too!

Is it possible to upload something with an info file? I've used the sketchfab.timeframe and sketchfab.zbrush, but is there some sort of sketchfab.info file we could use to have an automatic description loaded?

@wkblack it's not possible with a file, but you can use the Data API to upload models with metadata:

I can't find any info on this... But when I import my model, it comes in 1 single piece so I can't give different part different materials.

@mezzobed - What software are you using? I don't think materials are supported in IGES files.

Usually Solidworks, but for this particular model i'm using it was supplied me in STEP, i'm not sure what software it was modelled in.

Hmm ok, you will probably need to export a different format or convert it in other software.

Hmm, it looks like from all the files you can save as in Solidworks, Sketchfab only takes .igs....

    James,

I am working with Sketchup to Sketchfab.  I have never had any issues uploading models to Sketchfab.  I make obj. files and upload them with all my material files.  I recently have gone PRO because my models have gotten larger.  The model I am working in currently was uploading fine until I added a few more details to it in Sketchup.  The files themselves are only around 50MB.  I tried exporting from Sketchup to other formats such as 3ds, kmz, and dae..  I also followed the tutorial on Sketchfab about cleaning my model.  I installed the TT_lib and other extensions.  I cleaned my model and removed backfaces.  When I export via Sketchfab Uploader or I export and upload to Sketchfab manually I successfully upload the model, but my material textures are missing.  I have a semi translucent white material on my whole model.  Can you please help me solve this.  I pay to have PRO and my files are not near the PRO maximum file size.

@caterpillarcare We currently support a maximum of 100 materials per scene. Looks like your latest model has 148 unique materials, so they are merged together. Sorry about that! You'll need to merge or remove some.

    James,

How did you get a count?  I counted about 200 materials through Sketchup.  Do you know if basic colors are counted as materials?

I downloaded the file (Collada format) and used a tool called Assimp to get model stats.

I highly recommend reading these two articles about uploading from SketchUp:

    James,

Can you contact me privately?  I received an emailed copy of your responses, but it is from a no reply account.  I would like to find out more about the 100 material restriction and my PRO account.

    Thank you

    Hello
I do not speak English. I'm sorry for mistakes.
I have a question, how long will it load 500MB?
I'm recording the 13 hours 420 mb model and nothing.
    I am active PRO.
    Thanks.

@Perry82 - It looks like these models are too big - too many polygons and objects. Can you try to simplify the scene?
