Click on the Upload button that’s available on the top-right corner of any Sketchfab page. You’ll then be prompted to choose the file(s) you’d like to upload - just make sure it is one of our supported file formats!
Or you can click, drag, and drop your file(s) anywhere on the site, like below:
ZIP Upload
To reduce file size, you can also combine your files into a compressed archive (ZIP, RAR, 7z). Make sure to include all the necessary files.
- Your texture files (JPG, PNG, TIFF, TGA, etc.)
- Your material file, if you're using OBJ format (MTL)
- Your model file
Textures can be in the root directory or in a subfolder. It should look something like this (OBJ + MTL, for this example):
If you plan to allow downloading, you can also include any other files you'd like to share, like photographs of 3D prints, instructions, multiple file formats, etc.
Uploading & Processing
Once you have your file(s) ready:
- Click Upload ( or drag and drop on any page )
- Click Choose File and navigate to the file on your device
- Click Continue.
- Give your model a title and description, choose a category, and add some tags
- Once the transfer is complete, click Save or Save & Publish to go to your new model!
Depending on the complexity of your scene, it may take some time to finish processing. Once it's finished, your model will begin in Draft Mode.
Exporter Upload
To make uploading easier, we’ve partnered with 3D tool developers and built a number of exporters so you can upload your 3D files directly from your 3D software.
Here is how they usually work:
- Download an Exporter or software with built-in support
- Install it on your machine
- Enter your API token or follow the OAuth login flow
- Fill in model metadata like title, description, tags
- Upload your model!
For details on a specific software, check out the Exporters page or the Tutorials section.
Upload Limits
The number of models you can upload and publish each month depends on your Sketchfab plan, as well as certain attributes of the models. For more details, check out the Upload Limits guide.
Uploads Page
The Uploads page on your profile shows an overview of your uploads and their status, along with more detailed error messages in case your upload failed.

How to load animation?
stroporez79 I suppose you need to animate the 3d model in 3dmax or Maya in whatever you like and burn the keys when exporting to FBX
"Upload interrupted - Transfer Error" - I get this message trying to upload a model. It happens after the bar goes to 100%. I tried various networks, browsers and computers and get the same message. I even tried my 4G network from my iPad…still the same error. How should I proceed? The model is within the file size limits! I have an important deadline! I am uploading a single fbx file...
@encho - Sorry about that! This issue should be fixed now.
I have a problem with my Blender upload. The ceiling bricks are stretched.
how to fix it?
you can Download Here
Hey there,
Thanks for the report. I'm going to make a support ticket to better discuss this.
I tried applying Scale / Rotation / Location transforms to all meshes, which solved the stretched issue, but now the roof's rotation is wrong...

I fix It.I Use Lattice in my work .Now delete it and its work
Here ==== > LowPoly Well
Ah great! I didn't catch the Lattice - indeed we don't support that.
when i try packing external data it says that the path to "file name" was not found, so my models with a downloaded texture appear white. oh and also, if when i upload the model screen is just completely white should i just wait? and one last question why is my lighting not seen when i upload the file?
Hmm. Can you share a link? Have you tried uploading the model file and texture file(s) together?
Two, three days ago, I reported a "error message" when uploading to the store! It will not save files at all! The model is within the file size limits! In the meantime, I somehow managed to save the model and publish it in the store, but I can't upload any additional files for that model at all? Upload stuck at 97-98%! Won't update or save the files. The problem seems to be only up to this model, since I tried on another, older model and everything works! Maybe I should try to upload the whole model again and delete this old one? But what about credits then?
Hi there,
It sounds like a network error. We're looking into it. In the meantime, could you let me know if trying a different web browser works?
Also, how are you uploading. Did you open the Upload popup, or are you dragging and dropping directly on the site?
Hi James! I don't have problem with dragging and dropping, just with some wird error on uploading additional files to the model in store! I tried to test with smaller file and everything works. Then I tried again with the main file where the textures are but I had to convert textures to jpg to reduce the file size and it worked, although I still don't understand what the problem is? The file size never exceeded the limits!
Thanks for clarifying! So it's just the "additional files" part, hmm. I don't think it's necessarily about the file size in terms of the 1GB limit. It really sounds like a browser or network hiccup - although a larger file would make that worse.
If the upload fails consistently in one browser and not another, that would be really helpful in debugging. We've had a few reports like this, but I have never been able to reproduce the problem on my end.
That's because it's not a constant problem! Admittedly, something like this hasn't happened to me in a long time, but this object was much larger, not in terms of polygons but textures that are 4k. Next time, if something like that happens, I'll try it from another browser
免费用户是无法上传zip压缩包吗?一次只能渲染或导入一个模型吗?可以制作视频吗?
How do I upload multiple animations? Mine has the default static pose, and then one called "Cinema 4d - Main". How do I populate the animation list with other configurations?
Thanks.
jemmerich27 I believe that using C4D's "Takes" system to define different animations should properly export multiple animations to FBX.
Hello,
I was asking how can I upload a collection for example a scene with 5 cars.Do I have to combine them in one Obj or fbx how I will input the textures for the each car
Where is the upload button on the mobile version of the sketchfab website?
I was able to do my first upload just fine from the Models page but then that space has been occupied by my first upload that I made. Now I can’t find an option to upload anywhere. And if I request the desktop site from my phone it just reloads the same page in mobile form.
Hi Edwin,
The mobile version of the website is not really designed for uploading. However, you can go to https://sketchfab.com/upload and you should be able to do it.
cool
I have to check if everything is alright however unable to view the display / preview of the model before publishing. I have enable the Override software rendering list in my Google Chrome setting and relaunch but still doesn't work. How could I solve this?
Hi w.shin - I'm sorry you're having trouble. I'm not sure I understand the issue, but I'm going to create a help ticket for you so we can figure it out.
