Chief Architect is architectural and interior design CAD software.
- Open a 3D model in Chief Architect
- Select File → Export → Export 3D Model (3DS)
- Uncheck Truncate Texture Names and select Export
- Create a new folder with the name of your project.
- Open the folder, name the project and save the model. (You're also saving the materials)
- Navigate to the new folder and compress it into a .zip file. (This is important if you want the materials to show in your online models) See video around 4 minutes.

Thank you for sharing! very helpful
This is now no longer working for my models. All my models are now coming in under 1 texture. I have triple checked my exporting/importing process. It used to work fine, now it no longer comes in with any textures. Anybody know why?
Based on your description, there are too many materials in the scene.
Sketchfab currently supports a maximum of 100 unique materials. If we detect more than 100 materials during processing, they are merged together.

Are you able to reduce the number of materials?
