Faces Rendering

Written by Elaine

The Faces Rendering option allows you to display just one, or both, sides of a material surface.

You can switch between rendering both sides of a material surface or just the front face.

Single-sided rendering (back-face culling) is often a good choice for 3D scans. Other applications include Cel Shading and Cartoon Outlines.

Back-Face Culling

A rendering process that hides or ignores the back polygons of a 3D object—the sides facing away from the camera—to optimize performance and render speed.

Cel Shading

A non-photorealistic rendering technique that uses flat colors and hard shadow steps instead of smooth gradients, giving 3D models a hand-drawn or comic book appearance.

Cartoon Outlines

An artistic rendering effect that draws prominent black or colored borders around the silhouette and outer edges of a 3D mesh to create a stylized, illustrated look
